Shayma Musa is a french fry coinsure, boba-tea enthusiast, and Chinese food lover. When she is not trying out new cuisines, she works as an AmeriCorps VISTA at the Mercy Center for Women. In this role she works to build out programming for the Holy Rosary School building which, when completed in 2021, will offer 13 additional apartments for homeless women and children. A graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where she double majored in Health Sciences and Journalism with a minor in Psychology. Shayma has lived in Erie her entire life. She is excited to invest energy to creating an Erie that she wants to live and work in. This summer she is excited to continue her education at the UPMC Jameson School of Nursing at Hamot.
Shayma heads the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion subcommittee of the YEP Member Engagement committee. This subcommittee is working towards evaluating how Young Erie Professionals can grow into an organization that supports, reflects, and cultivates the principals of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
